CRMC DENIES APPLICATION FOR SEAWALL

On Tuesday April 16, 2012, the Coastal Resources Management Council voted 7-2 against the plans to build a 200-ft retaining wall in South Kingstown during a meeting in Narragansett packed by about 200 people.

The shoreline re-designation case will be heard at another meeting on Tuesday April 24th.  We will need as many volunteers as we can there!!

This is huge for our Chapter as we have collaborated with national coastal experts, presented our case in front of the Town of South Kingstown and CRMC and submitted various comments for review in the case.

Thanks again to Brian for doing a fabulous job of representing the Chapter and standing strong by the Surfrider position on seawalls.
Onward!
